Understanding the validation process

During the upload process, Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro) tries to validate the content. To validate a package, JDM Pro downloads it to a temporary directory and performs a set of validations. If the package validation fails for any reason, JDM Pro displays a dialog box that describes the failure.

Table: Content validation tests
Validation Result
Digest validation Digest Value and Digest Type are optional parameters that might be part of the web service call. If the call has these parameters, JDM Pro compares the digest of the package that is downloaded to the digest passed into the service. If this validation fails, JDM Pro rejects the package.
Virus scan The virus scan is a check that makes sure that the package doesn't contain any computer viruses. If this validation fails, JDM Pro rejects the packages.
Package content type This check verifies that the type of content in the package is also configured in JDM Pro. If the content type is unrecognizable, JDM Pro uploads the content; however, the content can't be delivered to devices.
ADEL metadata test The component manifest, found in the ADEL metadata, is a listing of all files and the digest values that belong to the package. The list of files and their digests must match exactly; no missing or extra files are allowed. With this test, JDM Pro makes sure that the metadata file exists, that it's formatted correctly, and that the digests match. If this validation fails, JDM Pro rejects the package.
Company code JDM Pro verifies that the company code in the package is a valid code. If this validation fails, JDM Pro rejects the package.
