- Introduction
  This guide provides detailed instructions for using Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro). It includes initial setup instructions, information about the various parts of the application, and steps to complete common tasks.
- Overview
  Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro) is a web-based application that administrators use to distribute data to mobile devices that run Jeppesen and Boeing applications, such as FliteDeck Pro. Administrators log in to the application to manage their fleets. JDM Pro is provided as Application Service Provider (ASP) software, where Jeppesen hosts and maintains the application.

  - About content
    Jeppesen delivers content to Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro), and the application distributes that content to the distribution groups you assign it to. Your company can also create content and distribute it with Jeppesen content.

    The Content Detail dialog provides pertinent information about a content item.

    The content Version History box provides a list of current and previous versions of a content item.

    The Content Version Details dialog provides information about a particular version of content that helps you determine how it arrived at its current status.
  - About assigning content to distribution groups
    To deliver content to all devices in a distribution group, assign the content to the appropriate groups. You can assign the same content to more than one distribution group.
  - Removing content from distribution groups
    If you no longer want to deliver certain content to devices in a distribution group, you can remove the content from the group.
  - About uploading company content
    You can upload content to be distributed to devices. Before you can upload your content, package each item into a .zip file. Only include one content item in each .zip file.
  - About reviewing and approving content
    By default, Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro) sets all content items to be approved automatically. However, you can set any content item to be reviewed by personnel from your fleet.
  - Editing configuration file attributes
    You can edit the settings of any configuration file that you created, whether you generated the file with Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro) or uploaded a .zip file into the system.
    - About locking or unlocking settings
      When you edit a FliteDeck Pro configuration file in Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro), you can lock or unlock certain settings.

    To delete any content item that you import into Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro), delete all of its corresponding content versions.
  - Invalidating a specific content version
    You can invalidate content versions, regardless of publisher. You might invalidate a content version if the content has bad data or is corrupt. Invalidating the content version prevents the bad content from being delivered to devices.

    You can export the items in the Content list to a comma-separated value (CSV) file.

Configuring Aircraft Interface Device (AID) providers for iOS devices

You can configure one or more AID providers for iOS devices on the Aircraft Interface Device (AID) page.

About this task

Important: For FliteDeck Pro iOS devices, you can select multiple AID providers. After selecting multiple AID providers in Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro), make sure that you assign the customer configuration file to a distribution group that includes only iOS devices. If the distribution group contains both iOS and Windows devices, set the AID provider to OPTIONAL in JDM Pro, and set up the AID provider on each FliteDeck Pro Windows device.

For each AID provider, you can configure the values of the network port, data stream port, address, access code, and label group fields. The COM Port field appears only for the NMEA_COM AID provider. For help with configuring the values for a specific AID, contact your Jeppesen account manager.

Procedure

Create a distribution group that includes only FliteDeck Pro iOS devices. For more information, see Creating distribution groups.
From the Content page, select the customer configuration file that you want to edit.

JDM Pro displays the Content Detail dialog.

Select Edit.

JDM Pro displays the Application Behavior page.

Go to Services > Aircraft Interface Device (AID).
In the AID Provider section, select an AID provider.

Select NMEA_COM.

The AID provider Settings dialog appears.

Enter the field values and select Continue.

Note: For help with configuring the values for a specific AID, contact your Jeppesen account manager.

The Edit button shows that the AID provider is configured. A check mark shows that the AID provider is included in the customer configuration file.

Optional: To configure more AID providers, perform steps 4, 5, and 6.
Optional: To update the values for the configured AID provider, select Edit .
Optional: To exclude the configured AID provider, clear the checkbox.

Important: Clearing the checkbox also clears the values you configured in the AID provider Settings dialog.
