Setting up the device CSV file

Use a device CSV file to import multiple devices into Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro). To create the file, you can use any spreadsheet application that supports CSV.

About this task

Important:
  • The information you enter into the columns for each device must be in a specific order.
  • Don't include a header row in your spreadsheet.
  • The first four columns are required. You don't need to enter values for these optional device properties:
    • Asset Tag #
    • Serial Number
    • Platform
    • Distribution Group.

To create a device CSV file:

Procedure

  1. For each device, create a row in the spreadsheet and enter the following required values in order from left to right.
    • Device Name
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Email Address
  2. Optional: Enter the following optional values in order from left to right after the Email Address column:
    • Asset Tag #
    • Serial Number
    • Platform
    • Distribution Group
  3. After entering all of your devices, save the document as a .csv file. If prompted to verify your selection, select Yes or OK.
Note: If the Platform field is left empty, JDM Pro enters the default, Apple, as the device's platform.
Note: If the Distribution Group field is left empty or if the distribution group that you enter for the device doesn't exist, JDM Pro creates the device as unassigned. To see a list of unassigned devices, use the Groups filter and select Unassigned.
